This dessert not only looks fabulous, but tastes even better! The best part is that it is so simple and it looks like a million bucks. When you have a party, cook out, or just want to make dessert, this will surely impress anyone! If anyone tells you that they do not like chocolate sandwich cookies, then dismiss them from your life, you don’t need that kind of negativity in your life! Haha! My husband and I have love for chocolate sandwich cookies that runs deep. How deep? For our wedding, we had a milk and cookie toast instead of a champagne toast…it is that deep! This dessert is an absolute favorite!
You Will Need:
1 Family Sized Package of chocolate sandwich cookies
2 (3oz.) packages of instant vanilla pudding
3 1/2 cups of milk
1 (8 oz.) package of cream cheese
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 cup of powdered sugar
2 (8oz.) containers of frozen whipped topping (thawed)
You can mix everything together to make a “dirt pudding” if you choose or you can follow these steps to make a pretty version of this dessert.
In a mixing bowl use a mixer to beat together the cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Next, add vanilla extract, milk and instant vanilla pudding. Beat until smooth and thick (pudding like consistency). Set aside.
Make sure the frozen whipped topping is softened and thawed.
Chocolate Cookie Layer:
You are going to count how many cookies it takes to go around the bowl (different bowls are different sizes so the cookie count varies). For me, I counted how many I needed for 2 rows of whole cookies. Then I broke some of them in half for the top layer. Then the rest I crumbled up to layer in the filling. Just takes a little planning.
All you have to do now is the pretty layer work. There is no “wrong way” to do this. You can change the orders of the layers however you like!
I apologize now, I was so excited to make this I mostly forgot to put step by step pictures. I am hoping I can describe it well enough so missing the step by step pictures won’t cause any problems! The basic idea of it is…Layer 1, Layer 2, then Layer 3…and repeat until you run out of bowl space.
Begin with using a glass trifle bowl, put a layer of vanilla pudding mixture in the bottom. Next place the row of chocolate sandwich cookies (so they face out…not down). The pudding will keep them from sliding. If you need to break a cookie to make the cookies fit, that is fine, just put that cookie in the back (Ex. you need 11 and a half cookies to go around the bowl, put the broken half cookie in the back).
Next, add a layer of frozen whipped topping behind the standing chocolate sandwich cookies!
Top the frozen whipped topping with crumbled cookie pieces.

Layer with more vanilla pudding layer, place another row of standing cookies, layer will whipped topping and crushed cookies. Keep repeating until the top of the bowl is reached.
Top the final layer with the whipped topping. I took cookies and broke them in half and placed them around the top to make a pretty design. Then piled up a bunch of the crumbled cookie pieces. Voila!
